High Cotton.

I grew up on a country song by the band Alabama that went...
We were walkin' in high cotton
Old times there are not forgotten
Those fertile fields are never far away
We were walkin' in high cotton
Old times there are not forgotten
Leavin' home was the hardest thing we ever faced
My child eyes never saw a cotton field, but I grew up surrounded by cornfields, so the lyrics held a familiarity that made the two worlds seamless. I featured this Alabama* cotton field in my dance video on Monday, and I can't seem to get away from it.  The sight of of it literally made us hits the breaks and make a u-turn to take a better look.  To me there was something otherworldly about it's beauty, but for Alabamans it simply looks like home.
*Here I am referencing the state of Alabama rather than the band Alabama, although I suppose there's a slight chance the field could also be the field the band Alabama sang about...

I'm wearing: the saame old Dickies shortalls, American Apparel V-neck, Beanie from a thrift store (I wore it so much on the trip that Colin gave it to me at the end), & Steve Madden boots.
